Behavioral and Mental Health Visits
Behavioral and Mental Health services are an important part of your child’s overall health. Examples of services available for current patients:
- Assessment for ADHD (inattentive, hyperactive and combined), depression and anxiety
- PediaIQ evaluations for ADHD
- Treatment of ADHD, and some forms of depression/anxiety
- Referral for individual and family counseling and psychiatric care
- Evaluation for mental health issues at well checks through standardized AAP approved tools
- Consult appointments with primary providers to discuss evaluations and treatment plans
If you think your child is struggling from a mental health issue, please call our office to talk to our dedicated clinical phone staff member or your provider to determine the best path forward.
For school difficulties/ADHD concerns, please see our evaluation guide.
Mental Health Crisis Lines
A reminder that the Georgia Crisis Hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for children suffering acute crises. This hotline can be reached at 1-800-715-4225. Another great teen-oriented 24/7 mental health service is “Text to Talk.” Just text “HOME” to 741741 to be immediately connected with a mental health professional.
Mental Health Follow-up Visits and Medication Refills
If your child is currently being treated by our staff for mental health issues, please remember that yearly checkups and medication checks are required for us to continue to care for your children. We will let you know when you are due for your next visit when refills are requested. For refills, please give us 7 business days for calling in refills. This ensures that *your* provider, who knows you best, can complete the refills for your child.
