Physicians with Knowledgeable Experience
Many of our physicians teach or serve on medical boards and committees to maintain the most current knowledge possible for the benefit of your kids. Practitioners in our group have served as the head of pediatrics at both Northside Hospital and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Dr. Sally J. Marcus
Dr. Sally J. Marcus, a board certified pediatrician, was in private practice in Marietta area for ten years before joining Northside Pediatrics in 1996. She attended medical school at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, Duke University for Pediatric Residency and Emory University for Pediatric Residency. Dr. Marcus is Medical Director of Kids Health First, an organization of over 35 pediatric practices in the Atlanta area and serves on the Quality and Utilization Management Committee. Dr. Marcus's special interests include breast-feeding, early child development, preventative medicine and asthma. Now that her children are grown, she is pursuing learning to play piano cycling and reading.
Dr. Allison B. Hill
Dr. Allison B. Hill, a board certified pediatrician, graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia. She attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine, graduating with high honors. After completing her pediatric training at Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, she returned to Georgia and joined Northside Pediatrics in 1997. Dr. Hill is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and serves as a committee member of Newborn Services at Northside Hospital. Areas of interest include child development, infectious disease, and preventive medicine. She enjoys volunteering at Camp Kudzu, a summer camp for kids with type 1 diabetes. Dr. Hill’s husband, Scott, and their 4 children fill her spare time with love, entertainment, endless errands, and much joy!
Dr. Amy J. Hardin
Dr. Amy J. Hardin is on the board for the Committee for Office and Practice Management for the American Academy of Pediatrics and was previous two term board member of the Georgia Chapter of the AAP. She is a proud honor’s graduate of The Ohio State University for both undergraduate and medical degrees (check out her OSU shrine in her Woodstock office) and completed her residency at Emory University, serving as chief resident there. She is also a board member of the Physician’s Alliance, and board member of the AAP website, www.healthychildren.org. She and her family are active members of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She and her husband can be found most fall weekends in the stands at Sanford Stadium at UGA where their daughter plays trumpet in the Redcoats. Their oldest daughter is a gainfully employed adult living in Washington, DC. She and her husband enjoy travel and bike riding on the fun Georgia trails.
Dr. Jeffrey C. Hopkins
Dr. Jeffrey C. Hopkins, a board certified pediatrician, completed his pediatric residency at Emory University in Atlanta, where he also earned his undergraduate degree. He earned his medical degree at The Chicago Medical School in North Chicago, IL. Dr. Hopkins was born and raised in Rockville, MD. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and has served as a clinical instructor of pediatrics for Emory University. Dr. Hopkins serves as a board member of Kids Health First, a pediatric practice alliance that helps serve children all over Atlanta. He also serves as a board member in the joint venture that connects general pediatricians with pediatric specialists throughout Atlanta. In addition, Dr. Hopkins continues to serve as a board member of the Davis Academy. His areas of special interest include early childhood development, asthma and infectious diseases. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf with his sons, swimming and traveling.
Dr. Natalie Metzig
Dr. Natalie M. Metzig, a board certified pediatrician, graduated summa cum laude from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. She then attended the Medical College of Wisconsin and subsequently completed her pediatric residency at Emory University in June 2014. She is originally from Atlanta area and has always considered Georgia home. She enjoys traveling often with her husband, cooking, gardening and decorating their home, exercising, and spending time with their two kitties as well as family and friends.
Maureen Shifflett, MSN, C.P.N.P.
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Maureen Shifflett, MSN, CPNP, is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who began her nursing career in Pediatric Intensive Care after graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree from Syracuse University in 1996. After obtaining her Master’s of Science in Nursing Degree from The University of Michigan in 2002, Maureen began her nurse practitioner career in New York City, where she worked first in private practice, then in a school based health center. She moved to Chicago in 2006 where she worked in adolescent health clinic and in the Emergency Department of Children’s Memorial Hospital. She also served as adjunct faculty at DePaul University. Special interests include childhood obesity, asthma and adolescent health. She, along with her daughter, enjoy outdoor activities with their two dogs.
Dr. Tiji M. Philip
Dr. Tiji M. Philip is a proud Georgian, growing up and receiving most of his education in-state. He grew up in Lilburn, GA, attended Emory University for his undergraduate education, and earned his medical degree at Mercer University School of Medicine. He then went on to complete his pediatric residency at Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, NC. He is an avid Atlanta sports fan and enjoys watching and attending Braves and Falcon games. He also enjoys spending time with his loving wife and family, playing basketball, and attending concerts of all varieties.
Dr. Adele H. Goodloe
Dr. Adele H. Goodloe grew up in Peachtree City, Georgia and is a University of Georgia summa cum laude graduate (Go Dawgs!). She attended Mayo Medical School in the frozen tundra of Minnesota and then migrated south for pediatric residency at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in 2013. Dr. Goodloe is passionate about breastfeeding and childhood obesity prevention. She leads Cherokee County Walk with a Doc chapter, a group focused on encouraging exercise and healthy habits on a regular basis. Dr. Goodloe has three young children including a daughter born in 2014 and twins born in 2016. In her free time, you might find her paying ultimate Frisbee, running, or trying out a new recipe.
Kathryn R. Hart, MSN., C.P.N.P.
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Kathryn R. Hart, MSN, CPNP, is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who attended the University of Tennessee for her undergraduate education, and earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing from Georgetown University. While working at Northside Hospital Atlanta as a Mother/Baby Nurse, she graduated from Vanderbilt University in her hometown of Nashville, TN with a Master’s of Science in Nursing. Kathryn began her Nurse Practitioner career in Lawrence, KS at a busy private pediatric practice. She is a current member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. Special interest includes lactation, newborn care, and asthma. During the fall, you might find her cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville, TN with her husband, spending time with her dog Marley, traveling to new places, or baking family recipes.
Reshmi Basu, MD
Board Certified Pediatrician
She received her undergraduate degree at Creighton University and her medical degree at the American University of the Caribbean. She went on to do her pediatric residency at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, AZ where she served as Chief Resident. She has worked at both hospital and office settings, most recently in Decatur, and held the position as Newborn Nursery Director with Loma Linda University. Dr. Basu is interested in early childhood development, healthy lifestyle habits and patient education. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and two you children, trying new restaurants, doing community service and traveling. She is looking forward to meeting our patients and parents as her family lives in Dunwoody.
Dr. Kate Mcglamry, MD

Residency: Emory Pediatrics, Chief resident
Experience: Prior to medical school, I taught at an afterschool program for mostly middle and high school students with a focus on math and science.
Special interests: Building resilience in children and teens and patient advocacy!
Hobbies: Running, walking or hanging out with my husband (Robert) and our big smelly rescue dog (Russell). I also love spending time with my family, especially my one year old niece, Charlotte! Fun fact, I used to play guitar and sing in a band!
