Comprehensive Pediatrics Makes for Healthy Children
Sandy Springs and Woodstock
The mission of Northside Pediatrics is to protect the wellness and health of Atlanta’s children by providing high-quality, comprehensive care and compassionate support. Think of us as long-term pediatric care champions for your family’s health. Our professional and licensed practitioners are here for you as an expert resource, your trusted advocates and advisors in all things related to pediatric healthcare. You can also count on Northside Pediatrics to remain at the forefront of electronic medical records, ensuring your privacy, convenience, and the most comprehensive care available.
Our philosophy of care reflects the latest expertise from the American Academy of Pediatrics and focuses on total wellness for children from the time they are born through their teenage years. One of the main tenets of comprehensive pediatric care is to promote health via the early detection of illnesses, developmental delays and early intervention. Our medical team can catch problems earlier by taking the time to ask the right questions, which not only reduces the chances of missing early intervention opportunities, but allows us to get to know you and your family better. We don’t skimp on care when it comes to your kids, because they are worth it.

To Our Wonderful Patients:
After 34 years of seeing newborns at Northside Hospital, we (and many other pediatric groups) have made the difficult decision to discontinue this service effective July 1st. While we have truly enjoyed welcoming new little ones to the world from day zero, and guiding families through an exciting time – as well as hearing “you saw this doctor when you were 1 day old” at their teen checkups – continued changes to the Atlanta and medical landscape have encouraged us to make this decision.
First, thanks to the many excellent hospitals with OB services, our newborns are being born all over Atlanta – from Northside Cherokee, to Kennestone, to Piedmont, Northside Atlanta and many others. Less than 50% of our patients are actually born at Northside Atlanta. Additionally, in order to see newborns at Northside Atlanta and battle Atlanta traffic, we have had to increasingly limit morning sick and well visits, which we know are desirable times for many of our patients.
Most importantly, we feel comfortable with this decision as our newborns will continue to receive stellar care via the Northside Atlanta newborn hospitalist team.
Already at Northside Cherokee, Kennestone, Piedmont and North Fulton hospitals, our newborn patients receive excellent hospitalist care with seamless transition to our group at ages 3-4 days. We know this will also be the case with our patients born at Northside Atlanta.
The process for your newborn becoming a Northside Pediatrics patient will be the same – all you need to do is to list Northside Pediatrics (or any specific physician in our group) as your pediatrician and call us to schedule follow up 24-48 hours after hospital discharge. If you have any questions regarding our transition to the hospitalist team this summer, please feel free to call and discuss this with your pediatrician or nurse practitioner at either office. Please know this was a difficult decision to make; however, we are confident your newborns will receive the same excellent care from the Northside Atlanta hospitalists that you currently receive from us.
